Italian inspired, rustic Kirknewton Stables Wedding | Barn Wedding, Edinburgh, Scotland

Ever considered having a tequila shot with your wedding party half way through your wedding ceremony?

Or a glass of champagne to toast your 'I do's moments after you've just said them as your guests cheer on from their seats?

How about elegant photographs with your bridesmaids and groomsmen against the backdrop of a grand old estate gate, after an intimate ceremony in a converted barn, immediately followed by a romantic walk in dewy rain, just the two of you, with an amazing sunset after dinner.... oh and live fire-performers when the stars have come out and party is in full swing?

No? Well, you might want to, because Siobhan & Stuart did and it was one of the most beautiful, rustic, country weddings I've ever seen.

I always feel that each wedding takes on the unique personality of the couple at the heart of it and this one was a perfect example of that. It was full of life, laughter, love and fun.

They had all four seasons in one day and Siobhan was neither fazed nor fussed about getting out in the rain for their couple shots - she was a brave one and yet I think we had more fun in the rain than we had in the sunshine just before it (not to mention the rain appearing like frozen little drops in mid-air, much to my delight - look out for them...).

From their beautiful leafy, floral touches to the Italian banquet they had for their meal, they transformed Kirknewton Stables in to a little piece of Italy and it was breathtakingly beautiful. I'm always impressed with the efforts my couples go to, to decorate their venues, from barns that actually were working barns on their farms only weeks before, to when I shoot at the same venue more than once but witness it transform completely depending on the couple and their vibes. I'm amazed at the transformations I've seen.

Siobhan and Stuart love to travel and lead lives full of great friendship, fun and love and it was all reflected perfectly on their wedding day - but enough words, take a look for yourself...

Rustic, country barn weddings are one of my absolute favourite types of wedding and it was an absolute joy to be there to capture this one for Siobhan & Stuart.
