Wreck the Dress

the "wReCk the DrEsS" portfolio

Ok, don't panic....it sounds a little bit risky at first glance, but the theory behind 'Wreck the Dress' is in actuality, a lovely one.I'm looking for post-wedding brides and prom girls to help me create this NEW summer-launch portfolio and your participation will be completely free of charge.No harm (irreversible, that is) can be done to your dress really..unless of course you'd want it to.The idea is to have brides in their wedding dresses and photograph them in places that you wouldnt typically see a bride. For instance, sitting on a wall by the beach with a graffiti wall behind her or climbing a tree (a small one of course). Of course, brides want to keep the dress in pristine condition prior to the wedding (and rightfully so). But what about those who want to put the dress back on and have some fun photos in it after the big day? The intention isn't really to wreck the dress - it's just that the intention is not to save it. There is a common understanding that you should put your wedding dress in a vacuum packed container and save it for eternity in the hope that your daughter will someday wear it but let's face it... the likelyhood of that is slim. So why not give your dress one last outing, before it gets sealed in the loft and too easily forgotten? Bring it out and have some fun, you'll walk away with some fantastic photos and, if your dress has survived the shoot, you could even think of passing it on for someone else to give it a second go.If you're interested please get in touch.(This can also apply to Prom Dresses and formal wear you won't see yourself wearing too often again.)

Behind the Lens
Hi, I'm 26 and originally hail from Ayrshire in the West coast of Scotland. I found myself with a passion for photography and people pretty early on in life which was only solidified when I was handed my first SLR camera at the age of 14. My father, Jim, is a professional artist (see 'Art' tab) and it was predominantly my admiration for him that lead me to begin my career as a freelance photographer.I'm a firm believer in the worthiness of all photography, from the amateur throw-away camera snaps to the high spec quality of the most sophisticated DSLR.My first love, however, is wedding photography as it is where I professionally began and my portfolio was very much a labour of love. With each couple comes a new and thoroughly enjoyable experience and I am often overwhelmed by the depth and genuine love I've witnessed in each and every wedding I have had the honour of capturing. thus far.

Albums are all fairtrade, eco friendly, handmade and beautifully presented. Layouts are designed and mounted by hand and example albums and dvd's are available for viewing.
